MORE INFO TO COME — Save the Date!
We’re excited to offer an evening of healing sound, mantra, music and great vegan food to benefit Gainesville Karma Thegsum Chöling-KTC. I don’t have exact times yet, or list of performers, so stay tuned. I do know that I will be leading the main kirtan and that Gainesville’s own legendary Kas will be playing with me! http://poppmusic.net/kas_poppmusic_net_id13.html
And that several local organic food restaurants will be offering delicious treats.
Come celebrate your own true compassionate nature at this heart-opening kirtan with Lee Mirabai Harrington and friends. Kirtan is a form of participatory call-and-
response singing which helps one align with divine energies and achieve states of unity, oneness, transformation, purification and inner peace. Tonight we’ll be chanting sacred healing mantras from the Tibetan Buddhist and Sowa Rigpa traditions. In this practice, we use a combination of sound, vibration, visualization, and our own unique healing instrument—our voices—to heal the body and the mind. The Tibetan Buddhist mantras will help us cultivate inner wisdom and compassion. The Sowa Rigpa (Tibetan medicine) mantras can help tonify the body, alleviate depression and anxiety, calm the nervous system, restore health, increase cognitive function and provide protection against future disease and illness. This profound healing extends not only to ourselves, but to all beings. Whether you are a couple hoping to deepen your connection, an individual seeking inner (and/or world) peace, or a group of friends of family members, you will experience deep shifts. No singing experience necessary. All ages welcome.
